The ball heads of the mantona Fortress series are the ideal partner for your photo and video equipment. Whether a telephoto lens, spotting scope, digital camera, (digital) reflex camera, mirrorless DSLM camera or even camcorders and heavy video cameras - the application possibilities of this ball head are versatile. The accuracy and precision of these ball-and-socket heads allow precision and millimeter-precise work with both heavy and light equipment such as action cams or smartphones (separate holder required).

Solid and first-class mechanical base for secure hold
The maximum payload of 25 kg on the Fortress 46 model requires a solid and high-quality base. The housing of the Fortress series is therefore made of high-strength, CNC machined aluminum. Minimal manufacturing tolerances and high-quality components ensure the extraordinarily high load capacity and a convincing ease of movement of this ball head.
The black anodised housing has an excellent surface finish. This coating provides an extremely scratch-resistant surface and an attractive appearance. The 46 mm ball of the Fortress 46 is cleanly damped and very precisely manufactured. In combination with the first-class processed housing and the integrated mechanism, it ensures the very high holding force of this ball head. The annoying sagging of the ball head after the locking is thus reduced to a minimum.
Despite the elaborate design, this ball head weighs only 560 g including a quick-change plate and is therefore a real lightweight in its class.

First-class control panel with convincing functionality and feel
The Fortress ball head has a total of 3 control knobs. The main locking button provides a rubber coating for pleasant haptics and optimum power transmission. This element, which is elementary for a ball head, has a calibration ring and a friction path control screw. The mantona Fortress series allows this control knob not only to adjust the resistance and locking of the ball, but also to select a short or long adjustment travel for the ball head.
With the thumb or the enclosed tool, the friction path can be adjusted simply and effectively to the weight of your equipment or to your individual preferences. A long adjustment range ensures a particularly sensitive usability. For heavy equipment or particularly fast handling, the friction path can be reduced or almost completely blocked. This effectively prevents unintentional loosening or tilting of the assembled equipment under high load.
The two control buttons for the quick-change plate clamp and the panoramic function are made of aluminum and ensure optimum operability and attractive appearance. 

Arca Swiss compatible Quick change plate in XL format and with scale
This ball head has a precision-machined and Arca-Swiss compatible quick-change plate. Since the Fortress series is designed for particularly high loads, a high-quality solution was also applied to the quick-change plate. The quick-change plate of the mantona Fortress 34 ball head offers a particularly large bearing surface with its dimensions of 60 x 44 x 11 mm. Due to the wide supporting surface, large and heavy attachments can also be securely fastened.
The quick-change plate is equipped with anti-slip rubber and safety pins. This prevents unintended release from the ball head. The built-in 1/4 inch camera mounting screw can be placed individually through 3 holes and can also be screwed through the rear D-ring without additional tools.
Especially for successful panorama photos and video recordings a perfect adjustment of your recording device on the tripod is important. For the perfect alignment of your equipment, an additional scale is attached to the quick-change plate of the Fortress ball heads. In connection with the center marking on the quick-change plate clamp, a millimeter-accurate and fast adjustment of the ball head thus becomes child's play.
A total of three water scales facilitate the leveling of the ball head on this ball head. Two water levelers offset by 90 degrees are integrated in the quick-change plate receptacle, and in the locking screw of the quick-change plate clamp there is a further canister bubble for orientation in the transverse format.

Panoramaschwenks become a pleasure
The extremely solid ball-head mount with the included panoramic cascade ensures a successful panorama swing. A separate friction and locking button ensures optimal and fast adjustment of the resistance in the case of panoramic swivel joints. In combination with the high-quality mechanics and the clean damping, panorama hooks are thus a pleasure.
The ball head has a 3/8 inch tapped hole on the bottom for mounting on tripods or sliders. A 3/8 to 1/4 inch thread adapter is also included in the scope of delivery and allows the mounting also on this connection format.
